Why Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is flexible, safe and delivers results. Time and time again hypnosis helps
people to manage their lives, achieve their goals and eliminate unwanted habits, anxiety, fears or phobias. Hypnosis also
helps to relieve pain and can be used in preparation for and recovery from general and dental surgery. It is also used in
natural childbirth.
Throughout history and in many different cultures, hypnosis has been used to relax, heal and enhance creativity.
Using our own natural abilities and resources, hypnosis can help to achieve results whatever the goals may be - increased
enthusiasm, motivation and confidence or perhaps to attract and maintain the relationships you wish for.
Used alone or with Neurolinguistic
Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), hypnotherapy is a powerful and effective treatment
What
is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is not sleep, although it is often described as such. It is a focused state achieved when your mind and body are completely
relaxed, with the aim of achieving a desired outcome. And because all hypnosis is self hypnosis, you will remain aware and
in control at all times. You cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to do and you won’t tell secrets unless
you want to share them.
The hypnotic state occurs often in everyday life - daydreaming is one example, another is that feeling of being completely
immersed in a good book or captivated by a charismatic speaker. You are also in a hypnotic state at that relaxed moment just
before you fall asleep and as you wake up.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis and psychotherapeutic techniques to explore
and resolve issues. When a person is hypnotised, the therapist gives appropriate and relevant suggestions or tells stories
using metaphors that directly communicate with the sub-conscious mind. This process allows you to achieve your particular
goals and bring about the changes you are looking for.
How Does Hypnotherapy Work?
There are many theories about how hypnosis works. It is widely recognised that suggestions made in hypnotherapy help
to establish new ways of thinking and behaving. Hypnotherapy creates new patterns that reduce and replace negative thoughts,
habits and unhelpful internal chatter, resolving inner conflicts and leaving you free to move on.
